CHS Freshman 4 Hand 2
The Cheshire High Freshman Baseball team started the
season in winning fashion with a 4 – 2 win over the Hand
Tigers.  It wasn’t a pretty one for the Rams but they hung
around enough to capture the win.  Eric Dietrich pitched a
great games going all seven innings while giving up two
runs.  Hand was able to cross the plate once in the first and
once in the second and Dietrich shut them down the rest of
the game.  Cheshire’s scored all four of its runs in the 4th
inning.  Eric Dietrich helped himself out by drawing a bases
loaded walk to score the first run of the game for Cheshire.
Matt Escoto followed Eric’s walk with a bases loaded
clearing double.  That is all the Rams needed to capture
their first win of the season.  For them to continue their
winning ways, the defense needs to sure up as the Rams
committed seven errors throughout the game.  The
Freshman take on East Haven at home today, Friday, April
9th.
